A student graduating from a vocational college gets an upper secondary vocational qualification in the field of his/her study programme. The scope of all study programmes is 120 credits, which takes three years to complete. If the student wishes to obtain the general upper secondary qualification simultaneously, it takes four years to complete both qualifications. The vocational qualification gives general eligibility for higher education.
A vocational qualification can be obtained either through school-based education or in the form of apprenticeship training. |

The vocational qualification consist of
- 20 credits of core subjects
- 90 credits of vocational studies
- 10 credits of free-choice studies
- a 20-week on-the-job training
- a final project.
